Waldorf Astoria Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. stew meat, chunked, but not browned
    2 c. carrots, cubed
    2 c. potatoes, cut up
    2 c. celery, sliced
    4 onions, quartered
    1 slice broken bread
    3 Tbsp. tapioca
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 can whole tomatoes
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    Mix together and place in large casserole.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 8 hours.
    Stir occasionally.
