Fruit Cocktail Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail
    1 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg, well beaten
    3/4 c. chopped pecans
    1/4 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Drain fruit cocktail, reserving 1/2 cup liquid.
    Combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
    Beat egg until thick.
    Add drained fruit cocktail and 1/2 cup reserved liquid.
    Stir in flour mixture.
    Pour into greased and floured 8-inch square cake pan. Combine pecans and brown sugar, mix well and sprinkle over top of batter.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
