Nanny'S Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can sliced peaches or fresh fruit to cover 9-inch square pan
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. boiling water or peach juice and enough water to make 1 c.
Preparation
    Grease 9-inch square pan; line bottom of pan with peaches. Sprinkle peaches with cinnamon and lemon juice.
    Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
    Cream the butter; add 3/4 cup sugar and gradually beat until fluffy.
    Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk.
    Spread this batter over peaches.
