"Southern Bread Pudding" - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. butter
4 slices bread, cubed
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. raisins

Preparation

Beat together 4 eggs and 1/2 cup sugar.
Scald 2 cups milk and 2 tablespoons butter.
Butter 4 slices of bread and cube. Gradually add hot milk to egg and sugar.
Add vanilla.
Add bread and mix well.
Mix in raisins, mix all very well, then bake at 300\u00b0 in buttered baking dish (1 1/2-quart) in pan of hot water for 1 1/2 hours.
