Bavarian Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. cabbage, shredded
    4 slices bacon, diced
    1 medium onion, diced
    2 medium tart apples, diced
    1/2 c. dry white wine
    1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. red wine vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a large kettle, fry bacon until crisp; add onion and saute until golden.
    Stir in sugar and cook until lightly brown.
    Add cabbage and apples.
    Mix well.
    Cover and cook approximately 30 minutes.
    Add caraway seed, wine and water.
    Cover and cook another 20 minutes.
    Season with salt and vinegar.
    Serves 8 people.
