Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. cucumbers, sliced real thin
    1/2 c. onions
    water to cover
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. celery salt
    green peppers (optional)
    garlic (optional)
Preparation
    Mix sliced cucumbers and onions together.
    Cover with water and add 1 tablespoon salt.
    Let stand for 2 hours and drain good for 1 hour.
    Boil sugar and vinegar.
    Cool.
    Pour over pickles. Add celery salt and mustard seed.
    Stir and refrigerate.
    (Add green pepper and garlic, if desired.)
