Nut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Heat the sugar gradually in clean smooth skillet.
    Stir constantly in a bowl with a spoon until golden syrup is formed. Remove from the fire and stir in quickly the salt, soda and vanilla.
    Pour the syrup over a layer of nuts in a greased pan. When cold, crack into small pieces.
