Lasagne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 to 1 lb. mild Italian sausage
    1/2 to 1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    5 to 6 cloves garlic, crushed
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 to 3 tsp. basil
    1 to 2 tsp. fennel seed
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. chopped parsley
    2 or 3 (28 oz.) cans whole tomatoes
    2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 to 2 pkg. lasagne
    1 large container Ricotta cheese
    1 large container cottage cheese
    2 eggs
    2 large bags shredded Mozzarella cheese
    Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Remove sausage from outer casings.
    Saute sausage, ground beef, onion and garlic for 20 minutes; chop sausage.
    Add sugar, salt, basil, fennel, pepper and half of parsley; mix well.
    Add tomatoes, tomato paste and 1/2 cup water.
    Mash tomatoes.
    Bring to boiling. Reduce heat to simmer; cook 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
