Hearty Cube Steak Sandwiches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (12 oz.) can lemon lime soft drink
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    1/4 c. cider vinegar
    1 tsp. marjoram
    1 tsp. thyme
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    5 to 6 cube steaks (1/4 lb. each)
    Italian or Vienna bread
    1 tomato, chopped
Preparation
    For marinade:
    Combine soft drink, onion, vinegar, marjoram and oil, thyme and soy sauce on a 13 x 9 x 2-inch utility dish. Add steaks, placing them so they do not overlap.
    Cover with plastic wrap and let stand in refrigerator 1 hour or more.
