Shipwreck Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp. fat
    3/4 c. raw rice
    3 c. potatoes, cubed
    1 c. diced carrots or other vegetables
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Melt fat in heavy aluminum or iron pot.
    Arrange a layer of beef, onion, rice and potatoes on vegetables in skillet.
    Cover pan and cook slowly on top unit for 1 hour.
    Can be cooked in slow oven.
