Rev. C. S. Bland'S Hopping Beans And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. rice
    1 (16 to 18 oz.) can pork and beans
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    seasoned salt to taste
    1 stick butter or margarine
Preparation
    Cook rice until done; melt butter or margarine in saucepan. Add chopped pepper and onions.
    Saute until tender and season to taste.
    Heat pork and beans.
    Place rice in serving dish; layer with pork and beans.
    Pour sauteed vegetables over top.
    Garnish with parsley.
    Chopped mushrooms or bacon bits, optional.
    Best served with steak or chicken.
