*Mamaliga - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. salted water
1 c. yellow cornmeal
Preparation

Bring the water to a boil. Slowly add the cornmeal, stirring vigorously with wooden spoon until thick and smooth. Water should continue to boil.
Cover and leave on low heat about 10 to 12 minutes until meal takes the shape of the pan.
Run a knife around the edges and invert on a plate.
Serve hot, plain with melted butter, sour cream, grated cheese or fried eggs on top, etc.
