Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. vinegar
4 c. sugar
1/2 c. salt (scant)
1 1/3 tsp. celery seed
1 1/3 tsp. mustard seed
1 1/3 tsp. turmeric
3 onions, sliced
cucumbers to fill liquid, sliced
Preparation

Mix first six ingredients thoroughly.
Do not heat.
Add onions and as many sliced cucumbers as can be contained in the liquid mixture (about 1 gallon jar).
Refrigerate 5 days before eating.
These will keep for 1 year in the refrigerator.
