Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, cut up
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix all ingredients in saucepan and stir over low heat until chocolate and shortening melt.
Bring to a full, rolling boil, stirring constantly.
Boil 1 minute.
Remove from heat and beat until lukewarm.
Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 cup milk. Spoon while warm over ice cream.
