Quick Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. sliced cucumbers
    2 sliced onions
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. white vinegar
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1/4 tsp. turmeric
    1/4 tsp. dry mustard
Preparation
    Peel figs and weigh them.
    To each 6 pounds of fruit, add 5 pounds of sugar and 4 lemons.
    Wash the lemons and cut in thin slices, removing the seeds.
    If the flavor of the rind is objectionable, use only juice.
    Add sugar and make syrup before adding the figs.
    Cook rapidly so that fruit will be lightly colored when done.
