Hot Cabbage Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 lb.) head cabbage, finely sliced
    2 medium carrots, grated
    1 medium green pepper, chopped
    8 slices bacon
    1/4 c. onion, chopped
    1/4 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cook cabbage, carrots and green pepper together in small amount of boiling salted water, covered, for 3 minutes.
    Drain well.
    Cook bacon in large skillet until crisp; drain on paper towel.
    Reserve drippings; saute onion in drippings until browned; add remaining ingredients.
    Pour over cooked vegetables and toss well.
    Just before serving, sprinkle crumbled bacon over top. Makes 8 servings.
