Ham Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 lb. red potatoes (3 c.)
    1 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. sliced celery
    8 oz. sliced carrots
    5 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. flour
    8 oz. cooked ham, in 1-inch chunks
    1 c. whole kernel corn
    1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper
Preparation
    Melt margarine in 3-quart pot over medium heat. Cut potatoes into chunks. Add to margarine along with onion, carrots and celery. Cook 10 to 12 minutes, stirring until carrots are not quite done. Whisk 1/2 cup milk with flour until smooth.
    Stir into vegetable mixture along with ham and remaining milk. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, covered, 5 minutes. Add corn, salt and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes more until thick and vegetables are tender.
