5-Hour Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. lean stewing beef, cut in small pieces
    1 onion, chopped
    1 c. celery, chopped
    2 potatoes, cut up
    6 carrots, cut in 1-inch pieces
    1 slice white bread, cubed
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce with cheese
    1 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in casserole.
    Cover and bake at 250\u00b0 for 5 hours or in crock-pot for 5 to 6 hours.
    Serves 6 to 8.
