Salt Pork Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. finely chopped fat salt pork
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. molasses
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. raisins
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    3 c. flour
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over pork; let stand until cool.
    Dissolve baking soda in molasses.
    Add to water and salt pork.
    Add sugar, raisins and spices.
    Add flour gradually and mix well.
    Pour into 10-inch greased square baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes. Serves 10 to 12.
