Old Fashioned Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 c. thick apple pulp, unsweetened
    1 c. vinegar
    8 c. sugar
    4 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cook quartered apples in water until soft.
    Put through a food mill or sieve and measure to make 16 cups.
    Put in a large kettle and add other ingredients.
    Cook slowly, stirring often, about 1 1/2 hours.
    Butter should turn a deep reddish brown and thicken into a smooth mass.
    Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
