Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 lb. butter or margarine
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. cake flour, measured before sifting, then sifted twice
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 oz. red food coloring
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation

Cream butter or margarine, sugar and eggs.
Make a paste of cocoa and food coloring; add to first mixture.
Mix salt and vanilla to buttermilk.
Add alternately with flour to first mixture.
When well mixed next with a spoon (not mixer), add baking soda and vinegar.
Mix in well.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
