G S I Old-Fashioned Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dried beans (navy or Great Northern), soaked overnight in cold water
    2 Tbsp. bacon fat
    3/4 c. onions, chopped
    2/3 c. celery, chopped
    8 or 10 oz. ham hocks (fresh or smoked)
    1 gal. plus 1 pt. cold water
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    1/2 to 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 1/2 c. tomatoes, cooked or canned
Preparation
    Drain beans which have been picked, washed and soaked overnight.
    Refresh with cold water.
    Drain again.
