Baked Green Tomatoes(Yields 6 To 8 Servings) - cooking recipe

2 lb. green tomatoes
1/2 Tbsp. sugar
salt and pepper to taste
3/4 c. fresh bread crumbs
3 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/3 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
3 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Cut tomatoes into 1/2-inch slices.
Arrange them, overlapping, in a lightly oiled oblong baking dish.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper and sugar.
Lightly brown crumbs in butter and combine with herbs. Sprinkle over tomatoes.
Top with cheese and dot with butter. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
