Buttermilk Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 sq. chocolate
    1/2 c. hot water
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. soda
    3 eggs
    2 1/2 c. pastry flour
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening until thoroughly blended.
    Melt chocolate with hot water and stir until smooth.
    Add to sugar mixture.
    Beat eggs until light and add buttermilk.
    Measure and sift together soda, pastry flour, salt and baking powder.
    Add to cake mixture alternately with egg and milk mixture.
    Beat well; pour into greased and floured cake pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
