Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter or Crisco
    4 eggs (beat separately)
    1 c. preserves (pear)
    1 c. jam (blackberry)
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. spice
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. cocoa
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. nuts or desired amount
    1 c. candied cherries or desired amount
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter or Crisco.
    Add eggs, preserves, jam, buttermilk\tand
    vanilla.
    Sift
    together
    flour,
    soda, baking powder,
    spice, salt and cocoa.
    Add to flour mixture: raisins, nuts
    and candied cherries.
    Combine ingredients and bake
    at 275\u00b0 until done.
    Line pan with waxed paper for easy removal.
