Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers
    vinegar
    powdered alum
    pickling salt
    garlic
    dill
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers 15 minutes in boiling water.
    Drain; pack cucumbers in jars.
    To each jar add 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon powdered alum and 1 tablespoon picking salt.
    Add dill and garlic as desired.
    Fill with boiling water; seal.
    Place in sink of hot water.
    Leave until water is cooled.
