Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk, scalded
    1 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 pkg. yeast
    flour
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Scald
    the
    milk
    and
    mix in the shortening and sugar, stirring
    until
    sugar is dissolved.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Add 1 package
    yeast
    and
    enough
    flour to make a cake-like batter. Let rise about 2 hours in a warm place.
    Stir down and add the salt, baking powder and soda.
    Add enough flour to now form a stiff batter.
    Roll out, cut and let rolls rise until double. Bake in moderate oven, about 350\u00b0 until done.
    Makes 90 to 95. This is an old recipe. It always turns out good for me.
