Pork Chops With Italian Sausage Sauce - cooking recipe

4 thick loin pork chops
salt and pepper
1 Tbsp. oil
2 sweet Italian sausages
1 medium onion
1/4 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 c. chicken broth
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
Preparation

Salt and pepper chops.
Brown well on all sides in oil in a large skillet.
Remove chops.
Discard all but 2 tablespoons pan drippings.
Remove casing from sausage and brown lightly.
Crumble meat in skillet.
Mix in onion and mushrooms.
Cook, stirring until onions and sausage brown lightly.
Mix in garlic.
Return pork chops to pan.
Spoon sausage mixture over them.
Pour in broth and tomato sauce.
Sprinkle with herbs.
Boil.
Cover. Reduce heat.
Simmer until pork chops are tender, 35 to 40 minutes.
Serve chops with sauce spooned over.
