Lime Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients

8 lbs. 1/4 inch slices medium size canning cucumbers or long Burpless cucumbers
1 bag Mrs. Wages lime
2 qts. plus 2 c. 5% vinegar
4 lbs. sugar
2 Tbsp. plain salt
3 tsp. pickling spice
2 tsp. celery seeds
1 tsp. whole cloves
green food color

Preparation

Wash cucumbers thoroughly, slice, and weigh.
In 5 gallon poly food grade bucket put one bag of Mrs. Wages lime with 2 gallons of water add cucumber slices and soak for 24 hours.
Wash off thru two waters handling carefully so not to break.
