Farm Style Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. quick cooking oats
1 3/4 c. all-purpose baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Mix sugar, lard, buttermilk and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Flatten cookies with glass dipped in water to 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes.
Immediately remove from baking sheet.
