Anasazia Beans(Great Low-Fat Dish) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. anasazia beans, pinto or black beans
    2 chicken bouillon cubes
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 jalapeno pepper (optional)
    1 tsp. black pepper
    3 garlic pods or garlic powder
    2 qt. water
Preparation
    Put washed beans in a large crock-pot or saucepan. Boil 30 minutes and let stand (away from heat) 1 hour. Drain water and rinse beans.
    (This step helps with digestability.) Add water to cover beans, plus 1 to 2-inches more.
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour on stovetop or 4 to 6 hours in crock-pot on low.
