Cherry Watermelon Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. sugar
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 tsp. white cloves
    1 stick cinnamon
    1 bottle cherries
Preparation
    Peel and slice 1/2 watermelon; wash and peel.
    Soak in 2 quarts water with 2 tablespoons salt.
    Let stand overnight. Drain; add clean water.
    Boil 30 minutes.
    Make syrup; add cherries and juice and boil 45 minutes.
    Let stand in syrup overnight; heat and seal.
