Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 cucumbers (4 or 5 inches long)
    12 medium-size yellow onions
    1 c. salt
    4 c. vinegar (cider vinegar)
    3 c. sugar
    4 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers.
    Cut in thin slices, but do not peel.
    Slice onions.
    Pour salt over this and let stand 2 hours.
    Then drain and rinse thoroughly.
