Potato Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 2 c. mashed potatoes
    1 egg
    dash of salt
    1/4 to 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Beat egg into potatoes.
    Add enough flour to make a medium stiff mixture.
    Heat 1/8-inch oil in frypan.
    Drop potato mixture by heaping tablespoonfuls into hot fat.
    Cook until cakes are puffy and brown on bottom.
    Turn and brown the other side.
