Jean'S Pepper Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 red bell peppers
    6 green bell peppers
    3 hot peppers, to taste
    1 large cabbage
    6 large onions
    2 c. sugar
    1 qt. white vinegar
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Shred
    cabbage,
    peppers
    and onions together.\tSoak in ice water
    with
    1/2
    cup
    salt
    (3 hours); drain.
    Mix sugar, vinegar and spices.
    Cover cabbage mixture with liquid mixture and heat to boil point; do not boil.
    Pack in clean pint jars and seal.
