Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. popped corn
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/2 c. margarine
    1/2 c. corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    In a heavy saucepan, mix sugar, butter, syrup and salt.
    Stir over medium heat until boiling.
    Continue boiling, without stirring, for 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in vanilla and soda.
    Pour over popped corn; stir to coat well.
    Bake in preheated 250\u00b0 oven for 1 hour, stirring several times.
    Cool and break apart.
    Store in tightly covered container.
    Add peanuts or pecans, if desired.
