Fruit Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 1/2 oz. can pineapple chunks, drained (reserve syrup)
    1 3/4 c. liquid (reserved syrup plus water)
    3 oz. pkg. lemon flavored gelatin
    8 oz. Cool Whip topping
    4 c. miniature marshmallows
    1 1/4 c. halved grapes
    11 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained
Preparation
    In small saucepan, heat 1 cup of liquid to boiling.
    In a large bowl, add boiling liquid to gelatin.
    Stir to dissolve.
    Add remaining liquid.
    Chill until thickened, but not set.
    Fold in whipped cream.
    Add remaining ingredients and blend well.
    Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.
    Will keep for 2 days when dessert topping mix is used.
    Makes 8 servings.
