Panetela Rellena(Cuban Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1 medium Cool Whip
    1 c. milk
    maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
    Bake 3/4 of mix in a 9 x 13-inch pan (suitable for serving in).
    Retain 1/4 of mix for pudding sauce.
    While cake is cooling, drain pineapple juice and save.
