Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed firmly
    1/4 c. molasses (baking)
    2 eggs, unbeaten
    1 c. milk
    1 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. bran
    1/2 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add molasses and eggs; beat well.
    Add milk, then bran.
    Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together, then add to first mixture.
    Add raisins.
    Place in greased muffin tins and bake in a 400\u00b0 oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Yields 16 to 18 muffins.
