Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. molasses
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add egg and molasses.
    Sift together and add dry ingredients.
    Mix and add hot water last. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
