French Apple Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. Crisco (yellow)
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 slightly beaten egg yolk (save egg white)
    2/3 c. milk
    thinly sliced apples (tart)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    lemon juice
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. soft butter
    1 Tbsp. flour
Preparation
    Mix together with pastry blender or 2 knives the first 4 ingredients.
    Blend in slightly beaten egg yolk and 2/3 cup milk (careful with milk, it may not need that much) to make a ball of soft dough, not wet, just right for rolling out.
