Kromer Family Birthday Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 eggs
    8 Tbsp. cold water
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Separate eggs.
    Cream yolks.
    Add sugar.
    Gradually add cold water.
    Add sifted flour, baking powder and salt, then vanilla. Beat egg whites; fold into batter.
    Line bottom of two 10-inch round cake pans with brown paper.
    Divide batter between layers. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool completely.
    Slice each layer in half to make 4 layers.
    Frost with Chocolate Butter Frosting and cover with shaved nuts (pecans are best). Refrigerate.
