Toffee - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 2/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. dark corn syrup
1/3 c. light cream
1/4 c. corn oil margarine
1/3 c. coarsely chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Grease an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
In heavy 3-quart saucepan, stir together sugar, corn syrup and cream.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until temperature on candy thermometer reaches 260\u00b0 or until small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a ball which is hard enough to hold its shape, yet elastic.
Remove from heat.
Stir in nuts and vanilla. Continue stirring 2 minutes.
Turn into prepared pan.
Cool slightly.
