Bachelor'S Heaven - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    about 2 lb. smoked sausage (low-fat), hunked into 2-bite size
    2 lb. fresh sauerkraut (meat case, not canned)
    about 8 medium potatoes, peeled and hunked into 2 to 3-bite size
    1 tsp. ground sage (optional)
Preparation
    If full flavored sauerkraut is desired, combine all ingredients in a crock-pot or Dutch oven, using sauerkraut juice. Fill with water; put on low heat in the morning before going to work.
    Eat in evening as a whole meal, preferably in a large, warmed soup dish with sauce, hot rolls and butter.
    Save uneaten portion in the refrigerator and serve a second and third day.
    It improves with age.
