Cherry Yum Yum(Monroe'S Favorite) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. vanilla wafers
    1 stick margarine
    8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 large carton light Cool Whip
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Melt margarine.
    Mix with finely crumbled vanilla wafers.
    Use 2/3 of this mixture to make crust in bottom of dish.
    Press firmly in place.
    Mix sugar, room temperature cream cheese and thawed Cool Whip.
    Put 1/2 of Cool Whip mixture over crust.
    Pour cherry pie filling over creamed mixture.
    Spread remaining Cool Whip mixture over pie filling.
    Sprinkle with remaining crumbs and chill.
