Christmas Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 envelope unflavored gelatin
    1 3/4 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 c. whipping cream
    1 baked 9-inch pie shell
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. vanilla
    3 egg whites
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. moist shredded coconut
Preparation
    Thoroughly blend sugar, flour, gelatin and salt in a saucepan. Stir milk in gradually and cook over medium heat until mixture boils, stirring constantly.
    Boil for 1 minute.
    Place pan in cold water. Cool mixture until it mounds when dropped from the spoon. Blend in vanilla and almond flavorings.
    Whip the egg whites, cream of tartar and the 1/2 cup sugar.
    Whip the whipping cream until it mounds. Add coconut and then add the rest of the mixture. Pile into baked 9-inch pie shell and chill for several hours. Serve with crushed strawberries or raspberries.
