Biscuits For Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    5 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift the dry ingredients together.
    Cut the shortening into the mixture.
    Mix the beaten egg and milk together; add to the crumbly mixture.
    Just stir lightly; don't beat.
    Turn out on a floured board.
    Roll out to 1/2 to 1-inch thick.
    Cut out and cook in a hot oven at 400\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
