Clam Or Conch Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. clams
    1 1/3 c. onion, chopped
    1/3 c. salt pork or bacon fat
    3 c. potatoes, diced or shredded
    salt and white pepper to taste
Preparation
    Clean and chop clams to desired size.
    Add onions to clams. Cover with water (or clam juice), preferably clam juice, add fat drippings or cubed pork and cook 30 minutes or until tender.
    Then add potatoes; let come to a boil.
    Cook until potatoes are creamy. Season to taste.
    Serves 6.
