Caramel Layer Chocolate Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

14 oz. pkg. caramels
1 German chocolate cake mix
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1/3 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation

Melt caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk in saucepan on stove. Set aside.
Combine dry cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts.
Mix by hand.
Press half the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Spread caramel mixture over the chips.
Crumble the remaining cake mixture on top. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool.
