Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. soda
1 oz. red food coloring
2 1/2 c. sifted flour (cake)
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. soda (baking)
Preparation

Cream shortening with sugar; add eggs.
Combine cocoa and food coloring to make a paste.
Stir into creamed mixture.
Sift flour and salt together.
Then with mixer at medium speed, add alternately with buttermilk to mixture.
Blend well and add vanilla.
Combine vinegar and baking
soda in small bowl; while foaming, add to batter.
Do not beat.
Stir gently.
Bake in two greased 8-inch pans at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
